SKINBoosters

Restylane Skinboosters are micro-droplets of hyaluronic acid injected beneath the skin surface,  where they work to bind to water molecules to add volume, hydration and soften out lines and wrinkles. This results in enhanced firmness, smoothness and elasticity of the skin for a natural-looking glow and youthful appearance.

Restylane Skinboosters can bring hydration to areas that feel dry, have lost elasticity or where fine lines and wrinkles have started to appear.

This can include:

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Hands

  • Décolletage (upper chest area)

  • Acne scars or photo-damaged skin

Bespoke Pricing to be confirmed after consultation.

FAQ

The science bit...

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in our skin and acts to bind water, keeping our tissues soft, hydrated and flexible.

Natural hyaluronic acid in the body is continually forming and degrading (in less that 48 hours). Restylane Skinboosters use cross-linking technology to make the product last months-years rather than days. This way, Skinboosters form small ‘reservoirs’ of moisture beneath the skin’s surface, giving long-lasting hydration and radiance.

Is it for me?

Most patients can be treated with Restylane Skinboosters™, but Dr Sabrina will confirm your suitability for treatment during your consultation, which is a thorough assessment of your medical history. Generally, you will be unsuitable for the treatment if you are:

  1. Pregnant or breastfeeding
  2. Allergic to the filler or lidocaine combined with the filler
  3. Suffering from an active infection at the site of injection
  4. Taking blood thinning medication, due to the increased risk of bleeding and bruising

How safe is it?

Your safety is paramount to us and Dr Sabrina only uses products that she would happily use on friends and family. When administered by a medical professional there very few side effects, all of which are temporary. These include redness, pain, itching and swelling. More rare side effects include prolonged bruising, delayed swellings and allergies. A full list of side effects will be discussed at face-to-face consultation.

What happens during the procedure?

Once Dr Sabrina has completed the consultation she will cleanse your skin using antiseptic wipes, the Restylane Skinboosters™ will be injected to desired treatment area(s) and will be massaged thoroughly to ensure an even spread of the product.

A typical treatment program starts with three sessions, two to four weeks apart. After these initial treatments, maintenance treatments are recommended every four to six months to ensure long-lasting results.

Is it painful?

There may be some discomfort when the fine needle enters the skin, but the rest of the procedure is pretty painless as Skinboosters contain a local anaesthetic that minimise discomfort. Numbing cream is usually applied before the procedure.

Is there any aftercare?

  1. Do not touch the or apply makeup to the treated area for 6 hours (after which sterile concealer or mineral make-up can be applied)
  2. Take care to avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours
  3. Avoid sun beds, steam rooms and saunas for 72 hours
